Lupus books reviewed

I believe that every lupus patient should read at least one good lupus book. Learning about the illness & knowing what you're up against can help a great deal, especially in coming to terms with having lupus. You can manage your disease better if you can recognise all of the signs & symptoms, & know about the medications available.

Below I've listed my choice of the top three lupus books, thses are all books which I would highly recommend to lupus sufferers and their families. The books are available to buy from amazon.com, for more information, click on the book's picture or on more info.

Lupus: Everything You Need to Know, by Robert G. Lahita, Robert H. Phillips

A great book for the newly diagnosed lupus patient. Gives a lot of lupus information in question and answer format, that is very easy to understand. Split into different sections covering all aspects of lupus.

Drs Robert Lahita & Robert H Phillips have taken the questions that their lupus patients most frequently ask and, relying on both research and personal experience, have used a question-and-answer format to present comprehensive, easy-to-understand answers. The authors cover all aspects of the disease. What are the different types of lupus? Exactly what happens in the body of a lupus patient? What causes lupus? What can trigger a lupus flare-up? How is lupus diagnosed? What treatments are available? Also included are discussions of symptoms and manifestations of lupus; detailed explanations of medications and their side effects; and even a look at the impact of lupus on the patient's life, including how the disorder can affect sex, pregnancy, family life, & work.
