"Living with Lupus"
by Philippa Pigache
Sheldon Press
This is a very good book for someone who has recently been diagnosed
with lupus, or suspects they may be suffering from lupus. It's
very straightforward and easy to read, offering basic information
on diagnosis, syptoms, tests, treatments and related conditions.
Along with factual information there are individual case stories
scattered throughout the book, enabling the reader to identify
with real people.
A useful chapter entitled "DIY Lupus Management" shows ways that
lupus patients can help themselves by way of exercise, diet, etc.
The book finishes off with a glossary of medical terms that have
been used in the book, and useful addresses.
All in all, it's a great book for newly diagnosed patients, although
those looking for more detailed information on symptoms and treatments
may want to get a more comprehensive book.
The book is priced at £7.99, but is currently available at amazon.co.uk
with 20% off.
